I want to run 3 clients in windowed mode over an extended desktop on 3 monitors so 1 different client is on each monitor (2x dvi monitors 1x hdtv)
From what I can find from google this may be possible with 1 ati card running all 3, the 2 monitors, then the hdtv via a display port to hdmi adaptor?.
Im abit confused tbh so if anyone is running 3 clients on 3 monitors and could post thier setup id be most greatfull.
Just to add, im already running 3 clients over 2 monitors with no problems, its just adding the 3rd display im confused at.
Thanks |

My mobo only has 1x PCI-E x16 slot. It also has a PCI-E x8 slot (but this is physically smaller than the x16 and I didnt have much look searching for one to fit it on the net).
currently im running 1 ati radeon HD 4850

But sometimes I do put in in window mode & run three clients (one for each screen), but I do have to turn down the video settings to low or med when I do this.
what graphics card setup do you use?

Pop one of those in next to your PCI-E card. Problem solved. It's what I do on my rig when I'm running my flight sims with multiple monitors.
how does this actually work, will my windows 7 desktop now extend across all 3 screens?

It must be an active one to work correctly and also will allow you to use Eyefinity if you decide to span the Resolution 3 wide ;)
thanks for the advice, these links don't seem link to any specific products. 6950 a bit out of my price range as well. |

I run multiple clients over 2 monitors, my problem is moving to 3 monitors, the number of clients isn't an issue.

The 6850/70 reccomendation is just a high end ballpark incase you want to play eve maxed out on 3 monitors, I believe it could do it well. If you are on a budget, any 5000/6000 series card with 2dvi+DP or 1dvi/1hdmi/1dp can do 3 monitors, but you wouldn't want to go much lower than a 5770 id say.
Ah I missed that bit 1st time round, now all I need is a good cheap active display port convertor, altho none seem that cheap but If thats what I need then |
